Holistic/alternative medicine uses for cancer patients?
My mom is undergoing chemo for stage IV breast cancer, and is actually going to see a naturopathic doctor in a couple of weeks – the only one in her area was booked for months so it has taken awhile for her to get in. As anyone with experience with cancer knows, it is extremely toxic to the body – and I am wondering if anyone has had success using alternative treatments to help support the body and immune system during something like this?
I was surprised to find out that naturopaths rarely if ever order scans or do diagnostic blood work. Instead they do long interviews and just take the patient’s word for their diagnosis, staging and current status. Also, the naturopaths in my area do not have hospital privileges.
It cost me about four hundred & seventy five dollars to see a highly recommended naturopath only to discover that he had never treated anyone with my type of cancer and that he saw lymphoma as a single disease rather than a variety of diseases with numerous subtypes often having widely differing prognosis and requiring widely different treatments. I have several expensive jars of homeopathic water to help remind me not to go back. A naturopath might be a good choice if you have allegries or mild digestive problems bothering you but for serious illness you need a Dr able to treat tumors.
If you do not know anything at all about vitamins or supplements then I suppose a naturopath might be more help than a clerk at a health food store but their ability to treat cancer is on a par with the clerk – i.e. unable to really treat cancer at all.
I’m sorry to hear about your mother. Sometimes things in life suck and having your mother ill and then feeling helpless to help her is certainly one of those times. good luck

I wish only the best for your mother. Cancer is a tough opponent to defeat. However, please please, do your homework when it comes to alternative treatments. So many of them are fake, quackish, or/and have no scientific proof of actually working. But then, who am I to disbelieve? I have found for my mother in law, who also had breast cancer, but beat all symptoms (yes, after surgery) and yes, after chemo and radiation therapy..that powerful, strong overwhelming positive attitude and courage seemed to do more or as much as the radiation treatments, themselves. How is that for something that cannot be proven or put under a microscope.? Spending a day or even a week and reseraching one form of alternative medicine is the best way to go before you waste your time and especially that of your mother. With the best of wishes and hopes! Good luck.

Dear Friend!!
No need to alarm about your mother. There is always a good way to prolong life span of cancer patient.
First thing is to increase the Oxygen content in the body. "On the oxygen environment, cancer cells cannot grow" this is the research truth. Let her do Yoga or pranamayama (Breathing Exercise)
Maintain pH of the body. Give more alkaline foods, rich in fibre and minerals, vitamins etc.
As part of food supplements, if you could give me details of where u live (Country, State & City), I could suggest some herbal food supplements of high therapeutic value to be used. I have recommended these products to many people in India.
The product range is :
Kinotakara – (An adhesive plaster) Body toxin adsorbent, which removes the toxin in the lymph fluid, thereby increasing the level of oxygen, and circulation of blood, also cleanse the blood system.
Liquid Alfalfa Chlorophyll – This gives energy, and rich in minerals and trace elements. This virtually changes into blood because of its molecular structure. Helps to get rejuvenated blood cells.
Liquid Organic Spirulina – A whole range of nutrition from Alkaline water.
SOD Rooibos Drink – An excellent Anti-oxidant, scavenges free radicals in body.
UIE Energy Liquid – An Excellent power source from Sun. Cannot explain in words, just experience it. It improves oxygen content, increase blood circulation, disintegrate blood clusters for free flow, improves negative ions in body.
Hope This will help you.
Do reply me to help you better

Both of you do this pranayam and compare notes.
This is the free alternative to chemotherapy for cancer patients.Do it and you will know from the future test results. You can also do it alongside any medical treatment.
Cancer hates oxygen and cannot live in a high-oxygen environment. If you want to supplement the medical treatment you receive(or not receive) with some alternative therapy then this is for you. You need to help your body to build up your immune system. The breathing exercises – pranayam is a holistic approach creating extra oxygen supply in the body and will slowly help with the health problem.Do the pranayam to see the benefits.Build up your timing slowly and after four weeks at the suggested maximum duration you will start to notice benefits gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later.
What is known: pranayam helps the body heal itself. How it works in the body is not known – but people may build their own theory. You have to do it yourself for your benefit.
The small print: Keep doing pranayam after you are better for minimum 30 minutes a day for rest of life to maintain health.
People who have been treated successfully, should do pranayam as well, as there is a chance of recurrence.
The pranayam techniques:
Bhastrika – Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.Duration upto 5 minutes.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Anulom Vilom – Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then – close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 10 times
Only by doing you will benefit and will feel good that you can do something to help the body.Copy and print this to improve your technique and stay focused. This is simplified pranayam for everyone and you do not have to go to classes to learn. This is for life, unlike short term classes where you do it in the class then stop when classes are over.
